Tarnished 90% gold coins and a shout-out to SCOPELABS

@Steve2323ZX Yes but it was clean! Really!

@silverfuturist They’re still accepted, they’re rare bills but still circulating around. Chances are the bank will take it, but you will never see it again. lol On Craigslist there’s alot of people wanting to buy up the old bills, so I wouldn’t use it to buy something I’d rather sell it to a collector who’s willing to pay more. We even have U.S. currency in circulation. I went to the bank and I got back a U.S. quarter. I have some U.S. dimes, nickels, half dollars, quarters and penny’s

@toluca56 Yes, polishing and abrasively cleaning coins is definitely a no-no, but so is chemical tarnish removal in the eyes of many collectors and dealers, especially when it comes to numismatically collectible silver coins. Google “silver coins natural toning” and see for yourself.

Attractively toned (what some call “tarnished”) silver coins often command a substantial premium above book value. There are exceptions (e.g. ugly/patchy toning), but it’s generally better not to dip a coin.

Yeah, i seen his videos a while back and they are awesome but he needs to do more videos however. You should sell all those Gold coins for more silver, get some 10 oz bars, 100 oz bars, and mix it up. The collection would look better :-)

  5. frontier1701 says:

24k gold also develops tarnish spots (red dots) because the dies are not cleaned properly or frequently enough at the mint

    Hilarious disclaimer. Love it.

@jimbobubbadj Come on now Joe, you are responding like a politician, LOL! You know what this person means hehehe!

  8. FinancialTraffic says:

Joe, the old Canadian $1 can be used. Except that you will get looked at like you got two heads. If it’s in good shape, it has more value as a collector’s item. If you want to trade it for a cheeseburger at McDonald’s, better trade it at the bank first because the 16 year old clerk there will think you’re from Mars. But it still has legal tender.

****WARNING*** SILVERFUTURIST Those paper $50 bills are about to self destruct!!

  15. CornerTalker says:

HOW do you know he has made millions? Just because he says so?

  16. silverfuturist says:

@CornerTalker Unless the place he films from is not his, a place like that in Hawaii with that much land would not be affordable by somebody who is not a millionaire. So yes, I am assuming he is not an impostor :)

  17. pringle959 says:

    Pooooooooooooooorrrrnnnn!!!!!
    .
Hmmm I wonder if those gold coins are tarnished or just dirty? Tarnish is a chemical reaction whereas dirt is just gunk stuck in the cracks of coins. Either way who cares, the gold is still all there and it looks great.

  24. silverfuturist says:

@drutter Good point, I don’t know what the correct term is for that!

  25. drutter says:

    @silverfuturist
Heheh. I prefer to go with “goop”, “crud”, or my favourite, “mung”.
