Diggin History #10 – Metal Detecting Off the beaten trail…

Head Cents!!! I also found some more shotgun shells, and a pistol caseing and 2 pistol slugs (bullets). Another first for me, I found 3 lipsticks, 2 complete with dried up remnants of lipstick still inside, and 1 cap. I also found a gold or gold plated pendant. It turned out to be a "Brotherhood of Railroad & Trainsmen" pendant. If anybody has an approximate date on it, I would appreciate it. ... treasurefiend metal detecting ace 250 garrett relic BSA boy scout camp silver gold coin shooting ...

I remember those old coke bottles, great spot I have in my neighborhood an area just like that. Only problem is I don’t have a metal detector. Mine died about two years ago. The area in my neighborhood shows on maps of the mid 1800′s as the farm road. A road that lead from the farmland of Hampton roads to the farmers market in Norfolk….I hopefully will be able to save up for a new machine this year…Great finds good day…Thanks for sharing…

TreasureFiend- You didn’t wash out that lipstick, did you? I mean, not that I necessarily wanted to use any or whatever, it’s just that, well, it would be such a shame to let it go to waste…lol jk

Go for it. I use an M6 when I hunt w/ TreasureFiend. I like it a lot and think it gives its user more options than your average lower-end detector (not that your average lower-end detector isn’t good, but…you know).

I found many coke bottles before, I don’t think they’re worth much, though.

That Brotherhood of railroad & trainmen is a Union metal. Great vidoes and always check the inside of lipstick tubes because that is where my mother kept her emergency cash.
