Thoughts on Kruggerands? Thoughts on Palladium coins? Trustworthiness of having a bank safety deposit box hold your bullion?

Thanks Gene. Are there any current market / social / political conditions that would make you think that government confiscation is a likely scenario? Any current conditions that mirror those that caused confiscation in the past? Thanks!

  11. Raycheetah says:

Krugerrands are well known internationally, easily liquidated, one troy ounce of pure gold and 2.826 grams of copper for durability.

By NO means should you keep PMs in a bank, at least in the US. Per the Patriot Act, banks can seize PMs (and firearms) kept in safety deposit boxes. Aside from that, that means your PMs are out of your physical control. Keep and hide your valuables yourself, and confide ONLY in those you absolutely trust that you have them, let alone where you keep them. =^[.]^=

What if they came to confiscate your gold, and you say you sent it to a family member, who sold it? Would they then take whatever they want?

Are gold American Eagles considered bullion or numismatic? Assuming the govet confiscated gold again and did it the same way they did it before, would they alos be confiscating American Eagles? Of course, if they do it again they cold do what they want to go after it all, I assume.

  22. republicmonetary says:

American Eagles are considered Bullion and are can be confiscated if the Gov.. choses to do so.
